Graduation and Grad Nite!!

Yup!! Graduation and Grad nite is over!! We are officially out of school!!
It was AWESOME!!
First, I woke up at 1:00 pm!! yup.. I wanted to sleep in since the night would be loooong.. I cleaned my room (and packed a box to send home) and got ready.. We had to be there by 7:00pm and the ceremony started at 8:00pm.

I arrived and went to the baseball field (where we were supposed to meet and found my friends.. Told Chantal HAPPY BIRTHDAY (she turned 18) and started conversating with everyone and anyone.. Later we had to line up, and get ready to walk the walk.. ;)
We all walked like in the pic below:

Just look at the picture and you'll understand somehow how it was...
First was the welcome speeches, then class speeches, then senior gift speech, then farewell speech... Then Principal Ramirez said his "I hereby present the graduating class of 2008 and recognize that they have fullfilled all the requirements set by the Yuba Sutter Unified School District School Council"-Speech followed by the president of the school Council's "By the power vested in me by the Yuba Sutter Unified School District School Council I hereby accept this Graduating class of 2008 and order them to be individually recognized"-speech...
Then we all got up, one at a time to get our diplomas, smiled to the picture and went back to our seats...
Following right after the diplomas, was the Senior Slide Show (which was beautifully put together) and then the FIREWORKS... The fireworks was so beautiful!!

Then was the recessional (which ended up as a disaster since everyone was out of their seats hugging eachother)... and we met out families on the baseball field.. and took hundreds of pictures...
That was graduation...
Starting at 10:00pm (we arrived at 11:00) and ending at 5:00am...
It was simply amazing.. we had SO much fun... There was a hairdresser, nail-person, photographers, huge slide, lacer-tag, make-your-own-music-video-lip-sync, Spray-tatoos, and a huge casino where you could earn Honker money (which was exchanged for raffle-tickets to win stuff like Ipods, Laptops, kitchen set, cameras etc!!!)... It was a blast and it amazing... I got tatoos too... (only spray paint.. dont worry)...
We were not allowed to bring anythign in there.. All bags of all sorts were left at the entrance in personal bags, and they were monitored by staff.. They even served us food there.. AND the most awesome thing was: THEY HAD A HYPNOTIST!!!! HE HYPNOTIZED 11 STUDENTS!!!!! IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
I hope you took the time to read this!! It was so incredibly amazingly fun!!
Love to you all!!

Hjelp meg a be for henne!

Stakkars jente.. Alle hjemme er helt fortvilet over hva som skjer og na ma vi alle sta sammen for a redde henne fra 20 ar i fengsel!!! Be for henne na!! Ver sa snill!!!

I love you Christina!! Please stay safe and I hope you'll get out of there soon!!

i dag var i morgen i går

Hamlet is almost over.. one more week now.. and for that matter, only one more week of school as well!! yay.. the countdown has been counting down from January, started out as 99 school days, now it is only 5 school days left.. Yes, we do have gaduation and everything before we are done, but we do not have any more school days after senior finals... YAY!!

Here's my sample at my conclusion essay:
Not knowing what I gave myself into, I started my High School adventure at Yuba City High School in 2008. I was going to have my senior year in another country in a language I was not completely comfortable with. Going to my counselor for the first time, she thought I was ready for an advances English class, and without really telling me what kind of class she put me in, (I knew it was Senior English, that’s all) she ended up placing me in Ms. Priddy’s Honors English class. Little did I know of what I had agreed to or the challenges I was going to deal with the following year, but I did have faith in Ms. Priddy to teach me what I needed to know, and give me some new knowledge I did not already acquire, especially in English language.

Starting my first day was a terrifying experience, new people, new teachers and new classes. I felt like a little kid starting kindergarten for the first time. My first class was English, and the first thing our teacher gave us was a hand out with all the expectations she had for us this year, and she said it would be hard, but she would help us through it. She also told us something I have been trying to keep in mind all year: “Work smarter, not harder!” It is a very good philosophy to remember when complaining about all the work you have to do. Her class started out fairly easy, working on a project, but then it started getting harder for me. My biggest problem was to keep up in our class, being in English and all, every day was full of words I had never heard before and did not associate with anything, so I did not really understand how to translate them. I considered many times dropping out of her class, but my liaison (who happens to be a teacher at YCHS as well) told me to continue the class, it would get easier after a while keeping up on all the English vocabulary work I had to do for my own convenience.

Now, after a year of analyzing works of literature, like; Heart of Darkness, Allegory of a cave, Young Goodman Brown, and many poems, I finally realize it is not that bad after all. It is like a good work out; you hate it while you have to do it, but when it is over and you can relax it feels so darn good knowing you did a good job. During a year in Ms. Priddy’s Honors English class, I have encountered much new knowledge I did not have before. Take “Allegory of a cave” for instance; the story of being trapped in a false reality when the real truth, the sun, is hidden from you because it would be too painful to know it. Yes, it has been a whole school year, and still I remember this stuff from the beginning of the year, that means I actually understood some of it. Also, after six painful weeks of working with “Heart of Darkness”; a story of how corrupted and blind the western world is, and when entering the jungle of the third world, actions taken for being savage can in reality be real honesty and truth, I do feel like I understand more of how the world thinks and how we should interpret works of literature that is coined on this subject.

Back home, in old sweet Norway, I would find myself enjoying a peaceful summers day reading a good book of adventurous stories or scribbling down song lyrics on a sheet of paper, so I must say that I did enjoy reading and writing before I entered the American continent. However, now when I have read many pieces of literature by great authors like Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, Shakespeare and Joseph Conrad, I started thinking I might not have loved reading as much as I thought I did. I realize that it all was because it was; first of all in English (my books had usually been in Norwegian), and second, because it was harder, it made me think. Before I would get really into books like Harry Potter, or books of horse adventures, they would keep me occupied from the beginning to the end, not being able to put the book away for anything. I called that loving to read; now I think of that as loving a certain type of literature. Reading has always been important to me, and now I do imagine I understand harder literature more and that I would perhaps be able to read a Shakespeare play without being a 100% lost. Maybe I am just kidding myself, but we are all entitled to have hopes and dreams, right? As for writing, I have always liked to write certain types of stories, but I have always found Norwegian language limited and I do find it hard to express myself good enough, so when I started feeling more comfortable in English I started getting better at expressing myself by writing as well. And yes, I do enjoy writing a lot more now than I did at the beginning of the year.
